DESCRIPTION
Fast growing annual herb grown for its leaves, flowers, and seeds–all of which are edible.
PROVENANCE
This seed has been grown in Oshkosh since 2009.
GROWING RECOMMENDATIONS
Direct sow 1/4-inch deep May-July.
SEED SAVING INSTRUCTIONS
Does not cross with any commonly grown garden plants. Yellow umbrella-shaped seed heads will produce flat, brown, oval-shaped seeds. Simply collect them when dry for sharing or use another year. If left uncollected, dill will likely reseed itself.
CULINARY USES
Leaves, flowers, and seeds can all be used in salads, pickles, grain and legume dishes, soups, stews, etc.
PRESERVING THE HARVEST
This is one of the herbs that can be hung upside down or spread over a screen to dry at room temperature. When fully dry, crumble into tight-sealing jar for use in the off season.
